Los Gatos

Los Gatos is off the beaten path, tucked up into the hills on the west side of the Valley. An upscale suburban city, there are 12,426 housing units: 7,108 single-family homes, 1,722 attached homes, 3,446 multiple units and 150 mobile homes.
The homes are well maintained and the downtown has been revamped and is an inviting place to shop, stroll, dine or hang-out in a coffee shop.
Being on the outskirts, there's a lot of privacy away from the hustle and bustle of the Valley. Of course, that means the commute is painful. But, oh, when you get home, Los Gatos is a delight.
The schools are excellent, among the top in the state. Residents regularly vote for taxes and bonds to keep them up-to-date.
There is a lot of parkland: fifteen parks, eight playgrounds, hiking and biking paths and a golf course. Los Gatos is a very athletic community.
It is also an active art and performing arts community and supports its own local newspaper.
