Milpitas

Milpitas has benefited greatly from the boom in Silicon Valley. The population has almost doubled in the past twenty years. Much of the community consists of new or fairly new housing. It is also one of the more affordable, relatively speaking, cities in the Valley.
There are 17,437 residential units: 11,177 single-family homes, 2,051 attached homes, 3,637 multiple units and 572 mobile homes.
With the growth and the newness and the affordability, there are a lot of young families, which means tons of kids. Being a family-oriented town, there are lots of family activities: twenty-one parks, eleven playgrounds, four pools, soccer, tennis, Little League, softball, waterslides, volleyball, etc.. Also, the city has two golf courses.
Another great feature of Milpitas is that the commute is pretty decent. Downtown San Jose is 7-10 miles away. The heart of Silicon Valley is 10-15 miles away and three freeways run through the city.
